Dear
Businessperson:
In August
of 2007, Madison will be the site of the Wisconsin Chief’s of Police
Association conference marking the Association’s 100th Year. This 100th annual WCPA conference
will bring Police Executives and their spouses from all over Wisconsin to the
Monona Terrace Convention Center.
Police
Chiefs will attend training seminars and see the sights of Madison. Some will
be visiting Madison for the first time.
The Dane County Chiefs of Police Association, representing the top law
enforcement executives from over 40 local police agencies, is serving as the
host of this conference and we hope to make this an outstanding and memorable
convention.
It is
important for Chiefs of Police to meet to discuss the issues facing Wisconsin
law enforcement. Our crime rate is the
lowest in then nation but there is more to do. We face the challenges of cyber
crime and our ability to use technology for the greatest benefit. Police Chiefs
continue to develop and enhance our methods of community policing and so to
have the opportunity to share information on the best police practices is
vital. All of Wisconsin communities
benefit when networking and partnerships are developed among law enforcement
leaders.
To help
with the endeavor, we are asking Dane County businesses to assist us with
corporate donations to offset the costs of putting on such a conference at
Monona Terrace. Because Madison is a
higher cost area of the state, we must secure additional funding beyond the
registration fees.
Donations
will be used for various training expenses, or as door prizes to be given at
the end of the conference. Donors will
be given credit in our printed program and in addition, may purchase
business-card size, camera-ready advertisements to be placed in the program for
$100. If you feel you can help us,
please contact me or the Chief of Police in your municipality.
Sincerely,
Gregory
